A Gaussian Process model for UAV localization using millimetre wave radar

The detection and positioning of unmanned aerial vehicles has become essential for both automation surveillance tasks, in recent years. design accurate drone localization systems is challenging, especially cluttered environments, where the target may be partially or even completely obscured. This paper proposes a precise 3D system drones, by means millimetre wave radar. Drone locations are estimated from spatial heatmaps received radar signals, which obtained applying super-resolution MUSIC algorithm. These estimates improved analysis micro-Doppler effect, generated rotating propellers, aids poor visibility conditions. A novel Gaussian Process Regression model developed, order to compensate systematic biases data. complete produces range direction, shown outperform direct spectral methods.
